It started with a performance... Noise Calypso! by Menschen Haben Krizen feat. Elpueblodechina, Michal K. and Gívan Belá Menschen Haben Krizen play a demonic rhythmical carnivalesk-coloured hard freedom loving set: noise calypso! based on Kurt Vonnegut's apocalyptic novel Cat''s Cradle (1962). The band's original setup with Shenggy (People's Republic of China) did not make it despite the pending Schengen, who is last minute reincarnated through the live noiseful frequency spectrum by Elpueblodechina (Chile). And this time Michal K., previously matching Bohemian and Mariachi visuals, is going unruly but exotic again, with an experimental caribic palette: a massage for the eyes. But like always, in crisis: Menschen Haben Krizen! A4-nullapriestor, Bratislava: Next Festival, 7 December 2007, 7pm. Then we decided to re-make all tracks and add it to the Karass Suite project. This is what is happening now. Gívan Belá started with making 40-ish audio tracks, uploaded and edited them: there are 9 pieces with a varying number of individual tracks, and as an example mix the final tracks are added. You can remix them according to any principle of course. The provided code is in max-msp-jitter. Basically it is doing a rhythmic (slope) an pitch (spectral) analysis of an incoming soundfile, distributing it over a network connection with Michal's visuals and Pueblo's Pure Data patches... en
