Kagol-III-maxpatches

This are the maxpatches that were made during the first versions, I will spare you the bad code of that, maybe will still change some minor things but we were thinking of running it for a 56 hours third version like Mauricio Kagel suggested (but never did?) ...

pdf417 decoder

This is the pdf417 decoder - the oppsite of the encoder. with this the trick ends its circle and decode the picture back into text.
IMPORTANT:
While compiling it searches for the libpbm which is in some systems included in the netpbm file! Open the Makefile in the directory and change lpbm to lnetpbm and it works.

pdf417 encoder

The pdf417 encoder is a slim piece of software that creates out from a text input a pdf417 barcode postscript output. The pdf417 barcode can save up to 2.000 ASCII signs in the code. It is possible to add/remove pixels through picture manipulation when converting it back change the text output.

70's disco patch

This patch was part of the search for the overtone patches - as well as the others unsuccessful but with another astonishing effect. When the values are turned in certain ways (like eg. indicated in the patch) you can create a kind of a loop where the one filter creates a kind of whawha effect, but a very smooth one. try it best with sinustones!
For a file it works as normal filters.

streaming patch

A simple streaming patch that allows you to take pure data as a streaming engine. Fill out the fields according to your needs (server, password, mountpoint atd...).

Tricky fiddle

This is a tricky fiddle object patch. You can connect it to anything, here it comes with a mic-in. Use the parameters with caution. It is not really a fine patch and should originally have been an attempt to create with pure data overtones in the voice. The effect is not really there yet......

Streamcircle

This patch allows to connect to an audio server and at the same time get the input signal in from another stream. Add the values you need according to your settings (server, passwords, mountpoint....).

Random patch

This patch allows to randomly start to play a file and to stop after a certain amount of time. to switch over to another file also in random time. It was used at the performance in Berlin to play with small interview parts of the Kagel piece. Opens just uncompressed audiofiles!

Element Harp

This is the pd patch that i played the elements with. It is a very simple playback patch with echoes and metronoms set. It refers within the book to the idea of creating through chemical processes something like Ice9 because it scrambles the elements in it's abbreviation.

just what it says: a spectral noisebank and you can give it loads of parameters, thinking now of doing some genetic algorithms on the 64 definitions for the soundbank: it is same size as a chromosome string, n'est-ce pas?

- playback of the 9 original calypsos (sort of playlist)
