BEGINNING OF SUMMER 2007
BEGINNING OF SUMMER 2007
In spring/summer 2007 we started to talk to various people about the project and if they would be interested in participating or advise on the project.
We started with a kick-off meeting in June 2007, where we invited some people to think about the building and usage of the database, that we wanted to create. It was mainly a technical talk about what to best use (Mysql or PostgresSql for example) and how to implement which thing for what purpose. On this meeting, the kankan mailinglist was created that should put on one list the artists and the technicians together.
kankan is a boknonist term.
//Und das Vehikel, das Kan-Kan, das mich meiner speziellen Karass zuführte, war jenes Buch, das ich nie zu Ende schrieb und das den Titel "Der Tag, an dem die Welt unterging" tragen sollte.//
After a summer of preparations finally the programming started. Karasssuite was doing a workshop on 'Letne Dielne - the summer workshops' from 24.08 - 07.09.2007 in Bratislava. We tried to do an artistic workshop in the sense, that we took two aspects of the book and worked it out with participants. Givan decided to work with slides and b# wanted to work with text transformations. The idea of texttransformation was approached by b# through the barcodes. By changing pixels in the barcode, one can change the text, that the barcode bears.
There it was that Mathilde Moootja Gil and Michal Kindernay worked for two days on the suite. Also Krize Hofer stopped by to try string games and how to complicate them.
A video and a life performance with stringgames was the outcome, and a little prayingmill which was done by Zorna and Cuco with some quotes.
